When I first read this design I thought it sounded a bit self absorbed. I thought of those couples that are together because they need the drama in their life. And I didn't really dig the faux-fading on it. But then I kept rereading it because I thought it sounded awkward, and realized I didn't even try to read the black letters alone, and saw what you were really trying to say. The whole sentence is the dialogue, and the black letters are the subtext, it's clever.

I think you've managed to hide it in plain sight, but then once I see it, it's all I can see. That's not necessarily bad really but it would be interesting to see even more subtle versions of this, with the black letters just slightly darker red. But this is still really quite beautiful.
